SILO is a student-led initiative at UC Davis focused on learning about and participating in financial markets. We believe markets are best understood through observation, discussion, and real decision-making.

 

Our goal is to build a community of students interested in macroeconomics, trading, and global markets. Members analyze market events, study how economic and political decisions affect asset prices, and explore strategies ranging from macro trends to short-term event-driven trades.

 

SILO operates as a practical learning environment where members share research and learn frameworks for understanding markets, economic indicators, geopolitical events, and financial instruments.

 

The group has gradually raised and organized over $100,000 in trading capital, allowing members to participate directly in markets. Students who trade through SILO gain hands-on experience while having the opportunity not only to learn, but also to earn. At the moment, it also serves as the only undergraduate student investment fund (SIF) operating at UC Davis.
